Owen is in the honors program at his school. Every other year you need to pass a test to get into that program. One month ago Owen took that test and today in the mail we got the letter telling us that Owen is accepted into the honors program at Cougar Creek Elementary School.
Scores on the test are reported as percentile ranks, which compare your child to 100 students of the same grade. For example a score of 80 means that if tested 100 students in the same grade your child scored better than 80 of them. A score of 50 is average. Students who are considered gifted in a particular area score in 90th percentile.
